If you live in Arizona and you left your cell phone in the car by accident and gone to lunch, have you ever experienced coming out and your cell phone is turned off because it overheated? It's trying to protect itself. This gives you an idea of the battery in your cell phone can't take it either. So there's two primary things that will affect your battery and that is heat and vibration. So if your battery is either in the trunk or under the seat, it will typically be protected much better than if it's under the hood. As a matter of fact hybrid batteries usually have some sort of fan to blow on them and help keep them cool, so couple things we can do is number one is if your battery originally came with an insulation blanket around it and somebody tossed it, it's worth the 20 bucks to just buy a fresh blanket. Secondly if a hold down is missing, that secures the battery down in the car, we want to make sure that we put a new hold down on it because if it bounces that vibration can cause damage to it. The heat is one of the reasons that in Arizona typically our batteries don't last quite as long as other parts of the country, especially if the batteries under the hood.
