Why do wiper blade squeak? Welcome to Mercie J Auto Care, where compassion and craftsmanship come together. I’m Rick Smith, master certified technician. Now wiper blade sometimes squeak or chatter as they go across the windshield. Sometimes that can be because the wiper blade is old and it’s not very flexible. There are some different qualities of wiper blades, but what I found here in the desert where I live is that they deteriorate very fast just because of the environment. A lot of times if you’ve got a fresh wiper blade and it wants to squeak or chatter, there’s a couple of things that can affect it. Primary one is either pollution or contaminants on the glass itself. The other is making sure that the wiper blade is is not twisted one way or the other and then the arm itself is putting enough pressure on the glass. So if we got enough pressure on the glass, the wiper blades adjusted properly and it’s still doing it I suggest treating the windshield with either something like rain X or even car wax. Then if you have troubles with the streaking after that, what I found is after you treated it, put some water on it and squeegee it off. It’ll be clear as day and then the next time it rains you’ll be amazed at how much better your wiper blade works. So give this tip a try and let us know how it worked for you! Thanks for watching until for watching until next time safe travels and blessings to you.
