Why do I need to replace my Cabin Air Filter?

It is kind of like the filter in the ceiling of your home. It filters the air that blows on your face. Couple things about a cabin air filter. They are statically charged so they collect dirt very fast. Typically, we need to replace them about every 15,000 miles here in the desert because we have so much dust and dirt. What happens if you don't replace them? The more they get plugged with dirt and dust, the more stress they put on the blower motor because the filter isn't allowing air to go through it so the blower motor works harder to push the air through that. We also have resistor and switches that control that and it puts more stress on those as well. So ignoring your cabin air filter can cause some more expensive repairs by having to fix more electrical components. It can also cause your air conditioning do run about 5 degrees warmer. Keeping your Cabin Air Filter fresh helps your AC work great, helps reduce your seasonal allergies and helps protect other electrical components of your air conditioning
