What are some important things to keep in vehicles at all times? Six things you should always have: Your mind (not your emotions), your senses– sight, smell, sounds, and touch only– don’t use taste, and the owners manual.

How do you know your battery is low or dead? You will hear a toy machine gun sound when trying to start the car.

How can we prolong the life of the fuel pump?

Always keep the fuel tank about the 1/4 level; the fuel is what cools the pump.

Jumper cables aren’t created equally. How do we choose the best ones?

Looks at the amperage rating and cable size. Cable size should be 8 or larger– the smaller the number, the larger the cable. 350 amps or higher should have good clamps. 12 feet is a nice length.

What precautions should we take when checking fluids?

For regular checking, check when the vehicle is cold and level. Be very cautious when checking a warm engine.
