To be honest on our modern vehicles there really is no such thing as a tune-up. My grandfather told me that back in the twenties, they had ignition coils on the model A's or T's I believe, that actually made a humming noise. So you literally tuned the coils so they all sounded the same.

So first of all you can start by looking at the owner's manual and see what the factory recommendations are. There's typically going to be a couple of different levels in there. There's going to be normal service and severe service. Most people in most climates are actually going to be under the severe service.

So I think one of the reasons some mechanics get frustrated with European vehicles in general is that because they tend to be a little unique as opposed to the Asian and domestic Vehicles which tend to have very similar repair procedures. So let me just give you a couple of examples.
