What is a MAP sensor? Welcome to Mercie J, where compassion and craftsmanship come together, I'm Rick Smith.
Well first of all, a map sensor has nothing to do with your phone and Bluetooth connecting it to the car to find out where you need to go. The acronym MAP is Manifold Absolute Pressure. Basically one of the things that an engine does is when the Piston comes down, it sucks it and creates a vacuum inside the engine. According to Engineers there's no such thing as a vacuum, it's only pressure and we're actually under about 14.7 lb of pressure just standing here. So it senses how much pressure is in the intake manifold and the engine. Manifold Absolute Pressure.
I hope you found this fun and until next time safe travels and blessings to you.
